Podere Meroli is more than a holiday destination. It is a piece of Tuscan history.
Dating back to the 1400s, the estate has stood for over six centuries in the beautiful countryside of Lunigiana, surrounded by nature and overlooking the magnificent Apuan Alps.
When we first discovered the property, much of its original beauty had been hidden beneath layers of plaster, cement and years of neglect. Yet behind those walls remained the soul of an authentic Tuscan estate waiting to be brought back to life.
More than 14 years ago, we began an ambitious restoration project driven by passion, patience and deep respect for the history of this remarkable place. Rather than transforming the estate, our goal was to preserve its original character and reveal the beauty that had remained hidden for generations.
Stone by stone, wall by wall, the original structure was carefully restored. Ancient stonework was uncovered, traditional materials were preserved whenever possible and every decision was made with the intention of respecting the estate's heritage.
Today, Podere Meroli combines the charm of a historic Tuscan property with the comfort and convenience expected by modern travellers. The result is a unique place where history, nature and hospitality come together in perfect harmony.
Every corner of the estate tells a story. Every stone reflects centuries of tradition. Every guest becomes part of a journey that began more than six hundred years ago.
